Hey guys, it's only 8 more pracs to concert. Only 8 more, and yet, we are no where near concert standard.
Can I ask you guys, do you care about band?

Our batch blog says NYCB Batch'11 is in love. in love with what? with band, of course! But, do you really mean it when you created this blog?

Do you feel the anguish, when you compare the band that was so bonded and close knitted where seniors have fun with juniors, to the current one now, where we are not even bonded as a batch anymore, needless to say, as a band?
Do you feel the urgency to prac, when you think of the fact that only 8 pracs left and we are no where near Limelight standard, which, to be honest, isn't exactly all that good?

For those that love band.. you would understand me when I say that being in band is like watching something you really love, just suddenly dying like that.

You know it hurts so much, I can't even bring myself to listen to our own playing.

Do you realise that the standard we were at, 8 pracs before Limelight, compared to now, 8 pracs before Appasionata, is like heaven and earth?

Where is the band spirit?

With us progressing like that, with barely any improvement every prac, the concert will just serve as a humiliation for us. And then there will be gimicks. Gimicks + lousy playing = total humiliation.

After SYF last year, people out there are still unsure of our standards. This concert is supposed to let them know that we are of platinum standard, we did not deserve the silver. But looking at the progress now, silver is really an amazing grace for us. People will be there, listening. HCBand people will be going. St Marg Band people will be going. And so will many other bands. By the end of the concert, we would want them to be thinking "NYCB is really good, they really did not deserve the silver." and not let them leave, thinking smugly "We are so much better then them."

And, come on. Competition in July. At the rate we are improving, we need to start meng practising NOW. If we screw the concert, get a not so good result for the competition, imagine what the school will think. We would probably get left-over sec1s like st johns, because nobody would want to join a loser band.

And just imagine how disappointed our graduated seniors would be, when they come back to listen to us. They are going to be thoroughly disappointed. Disgusted at how quickly we just deproved. I dont know about you, but it really hurts to just think about how disppointed in us they would be, how heartbroken they would be, to see the band in which they gave so much, falling apart like that.

So please, if you people still care about the band, please. Start pracing already. Come for lunch pracs. Drag your section. Because we will be needing all the miracles we can get, to reach concert standard in time.
